A free workshop on proposed federal grazing regulations and their impact on ranchers is scheduled Thursday, Sept. 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Sevier County Courthouse in Richfield.
The Interior Department's latest grazing reform proposal will be discussed. Some suggestions in the proposal, such as the use of certain plants on specific soils, are not even compatible with the ecology of Utah's arid lands, said James E. Bowns, Utah State University Extension range specialist.A range tour is scheduled on Mt. Dutton the following day to give participants a chance to see and discuss the applications.
Free lunch is provided on the tour. For information, call 836-2662 or 577-2901.
