DEATH: JAMES F. ""PETE"" SHRYOCK

James Fuller "Pete" Shryock died September 13, 1994 in a Salt Lake hospital after an extended illness of multiple myeloma.

He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 12, 1918, a son of John Carter and Nell Dils Shryock, Sr. He graduated from Denison University, Granville, Ohio, with a B.S. degree in chemistry. He transfered to Utah with Hercules, Inc. in 1959. He retired in 1977.On February 23, 1945 he married Helen Kerber Ward in Frostburg, Maryland.

He is survived by his wife; a brother, John C. Shryock, Jr., Asheville, North Carolina; a nephew, John C. Shryock III, Gainsville, Florida; two brothers-in-law, Frank K. Ward, Berkley, Michigan; and John J. Ward, Jr., Chicago, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. John P. (Glendora) Koch, Pierce, Florida; and Mrs. Frank K. (Mary) Ward, Berkley, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Catherine Ann Shryock.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Dr. James W. Cecil for his many years of kind and devoted care.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 E. Creek Road, Sandy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the James F. Shryock Memorial Fund, c/o St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 E. Creek Road, Sandy, Utah 84093. Funeral services under the direction of Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary.
