DEATH: GLENYS WYSS BORTHICK

Glenys Wyss Borthick, daughter of John Wyss and Stella Smith Wyss, was the second of three children born on the family farm at Long Prairie Road in Tillamook, Oregon on April 28, 1926. She passed away at her home in Rockaway Beach, Oregon the morning of September 11, 1994 at age 68.

Glenys grew up and attended school in Tillamook. She was united in marriage to Mirvin D. Borthick in Tillamook on September 8, 1946. Glenys lived in several areas after her marriage because of her husband's work. 27 years were spent in Salt Lake City, 1961-1987, when her husband retired and they returned to Tillamook County, settling in Rockaway Beach.Glenys excelled in artistic design and the tailoring of fabrics. She was very proud of her Swiss heritage and of being a "haus frau," mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Tillamook United Methodist Church, United Methodist Faith Quilters, Tillamook County Pioneer Association, Tillamook Chapter Ladies of the Nile.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Mirvin D. Borthick, Rockaway Beach; one daughter and son-in-law, Jona and Ron Hansen; one son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Jenny Borthick, all Salt Lake City; her mother and stepfather, Stella and Alfred Dullaghan, Salem, Oregon; one brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Lorraine Wyss, Oceanside, Calif.; five grandsons and one granddaughter, all Salt Lake City.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Wyss and her sister, Bonnie Wyss Green.
