DEATH: JAMES ""LEIGH"" WADE

James "Leigh" Wade passed away Sept. 15, 1994 at his home in Cedar City.

Leigh was born in Fillmore, Utah on October 29, 1904, to Thomas James and Mary Jane Leigh Wade. He married Dora Robinson on April 23, 1928 in Paragonah, Utah.Leigh's famly moved to Cedar when he was five years old. Leigh's father died when Leigh was ten years old and he went to work with his father's team of horses to help support his family. He began herding sheep at the age of thirteen.

He retired from Department of Transportation after 38 years. He loved to hunt and fish, and just be outdoors. He loved the ranch in Horse Valley. He had always grown a beautiful garden. One of the last "Ole Time Cowboys". He loved animals and has been a hard worker his entire life. He was close to his family, loved to have his grandchildren and great-grandchildren visit him.

He is survived by his wife, Dora, Cedar City; three sons and one daughter, Kenneth and Corman Wade, Jack and Margaret Miller, all Cedar City; LaVar and Kaye Wade, St. George; Shirl and Linda Wade, Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, one sister-in-law, Gerald and Della Wade, Cedar City; Daniel and Mary Gracie Wade, Washington, Utah; and Maurine Wade, of Corona, Calif.; 21 grandchldren, 34 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Jetta Lewis and Afton Middleton, two brothers, Leland and Thomas and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services Monday, September 19, 1994 at 1 p.m. at the Cedar City 14th Ward Chapel, 61 North 900 West, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Monday morning from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery.
