U.S. entertainers are so popular in nations around the world that they are being featured on the postage stamps of many countries.
A recent stamp issue from the island of St. Vincent in the Caribbean is a tribute to Barbra Streisand, who has received numerous awards as a singer, actress, songwriter and director.She is recognized as the first female composer to win an Academy Award for her song "Evergreen," the love theme from her hit film "A Star Is Born." Her concerts have been sellouts, and she continues to perform and direct in a whirlwind of popularity.
The St. Vincent $2 stamp has a portrait of Streisand with her name atop the design.

- WORLD CUP AND ELVIS. Another country hailing American entertainers is Hungary. Three new stamps were issued to commemorate the recent Football World Cup held in the United States. But the Hungarian postal officials added a trio of American legends to the football designs.
Depicted were Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne. Their photos were superimposed over a football scene. At the top left of each stamp was an American flag.
