DEATH: CHRISTINA SAVAS

Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Christina Makis Savas, passed away Friday, September 16, 1994 of complications associated with congestive heart failure.

Christina passed away with a quiet dignity and strength that symbolized her life and will serve as an inspiration for those she has left behind, and whose lives she has touched. The smallest things in life were her greatest joys. She is admired by all who knew her for her sincerity and elegance in simplicity. Her total love of her family and friends was without condition and unwavering.Christina was born January 3, 1910 in Snake Town, Utah to Anthony and Florence Makis. As a seventeen year old bride, she married Peter G. Savas on July 24, 1927, and together they raised nine children. With humility, modesty and faith in God, she endured the loss of her husband, February 13, 1954, and the loss of four sons: Gus, Tony, George and Spero. She was a proud member of the Greek Orthodox Church.

She is survived by daughters: Wilma Roumpos (Gregory), Tula Gamvroulas (Peter), Joanne Bauman (Jerry), and sons, Nick Savas (Dena), and Jim Savas (Patsy), along with 22 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Toni Reid, of San Diego, Calif.
