DEATH: REED ROBERTS

W. Reed Roberts, 84, died Friday, September 16, 1994 at the McKay-Dee Hospital.

He was born January 19, 1910 in Washington D.C., a son of David R. and Tryphena Davis Roberts. He married Alberta Jensen, February 14, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He had been employed by the U.S. Government and retired after 30 years of service. He was an active member of the Ben Lomond 1st Ward, where he was a High Priest. He had served in various positions in the church, including: counselor to two bishoprics, temple ordinance worker, genealogical library worker and several music positions. He had been active in many choral groups, including: Masters Singers and the Lion's Club Quartet in Cedar City, Sierra Singers, and Men of Renote in Reno, Nevada. He had lived in Salt Lake City, Cedar City, Reno, Nevada and North Ogden.

Survived by wife, Alberta J. Roberts, North Ogden; a son, two daughters: David R. and Arlene Roberts, West Jordan; Carol R. and George Schindler, Reno, Nevada; Gwynne R. and George Nichols, North Ogden; 18 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters, Delano R. Krey, Pittsburg, Calif.; Della Rae R. Young, Donna, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Evan J. Roberts.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the Ben Lomond 1st Ward Chapel, 575 East 3100 North, North Ogden, with Bishop Blaine Allen officiating. Friends may call at the Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Logan City Cemetery.
