OFFICER'S SUIT SAYS N.Y. POST LIBELED HIM

A policeman filed a $2 million lawsuit against a former New York Post reporter, claiming he was libeled in a story that questioned whether White House Deputy Counsel Vincent Foster committed suicide.

U.S. Park Police Officer Kevin Fornshill filed suit Wednesday against Christopher Ruddy in Montgomery County Circuit Court in Rockville, Md., over a story that appeared in July 19 editions of the Post.Ruddy's article said officers inaccurately reported the location of Foster's body, participated in a cover-up by moving the body and obstructed justice by lying to the press and misleading authorities.

Park Police concluded that Foster committed suicide by shooting himself in the mouth.
