DEATH: PHYLLIS ATWOOD KEATE

Phyllis Keate passed away September 18, 1994 on a beautiful Sunday morning after a courageous struggle with complications resulting from radiation treatment and cancer.

Born May 29, 1923 in Crescent, Utah to Henry C. and Sarah Hand Atwood. Phyllis married Kenneth F. Keate July 23, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Her main loves in life were her family and friends for whom she cared deeply and her membership in the LDS Church. She served for many years as a ward Primary president and later as 1st counselor and compassionate service leader in Relief Society.

Survived by her husband, Kenneth; two sons, Barry Warren (Nancy), Salt Lake City, Utah; Kenneth Brent (Terrie), Denver, Colorado; three daughters, Debra (Stephen) Turner, Sandy, Utah; Toni (Bryan) Norton, Portland, Oregon; Wendy (Jeff) Lallathin, Chino, California; 17 grandchildren; three sisters, Sally W. Scott, Reston, Virginia; Damie Carlson, Santa Clara, Utah; and Dorothy A. Johanson, Midvale, Utah.

Funeral services Wednesday, September 21, at 11 a.m. in the Brookstone Ward, 1850 East 6400 South, Salt Lake City. Family and friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and also on Wednesday at the ward one hour prior to the funeral. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.

The family would like to thank the many medical professionals that have worked so intensely over the past few years to care for Phyllis, as well as the wonderful nurses' aides and administrators of the Hospice organization.
