James M. Adams died September 17, 1994 in his home at age 75, after a long illness.
Born March 6, 1919 in Scipio, Utah, to James "Jess" Adams and Cynthia Collins. Married Lola LeFevre in Panguitch, Utah in 1938. He served in the CCC and was a veteran of World War II. A longtime resident of Salt Lake City. He worked 20 years for Western Steel Co. and retired from employment with the state of Utah. He built his retirement home with his wife, in Toquerville, Utah, where he served as city councilman and contributed much to the town's improvements. He returned to Salt Lake City due to poor health.Survived by wife; children, Joyce (James) Thompson; Janice (Ted) Romo, and Judy Adams; four brothers, E. L. Arrel, Leo, Bob and sister, Cleon; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, brother, William, grandchildren, Wendy Hemingway and Whitney Kelly.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, September 21, 1994 at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, from 6-8 p.m. A tribute will be held in his honor Thursday, September 22, 1994, 10:30 a.m. followed by graveside service.
