Cougar golfers 3rd at Husky Invitational

SEATTLE - After three rounds of golf at the 1994 Husky Invitational Tournament, BYU finished third among the 18 team field.

The Cougars scored a 918 total, 11 strokes behind tournament champions UC Berkeley, who carded a 907 total.

Todd Pence of BYU carded a 74-76-76-226 and placing him in seventh place after the final round. BYU's David Summerhays and Brodi Berg who carded a 78-75-77-230 12th place finish and a 74-78-79-231 13th place finish respectively.

Cougar golfers Will Huish and Ryan Oldroyd tied for 37th place.


Ute spikers open WAC season on road

The University of Utah volleyball team open the WAC season on the road this week, with a match Friday at Fresno State (8-4 overall) and Saturday at San Deigo State (7-3). Utah is 4-6 overall. Last weekend at the Mizuno Challenge at BYU, Utah's Teresa McCabe was named to the all-tournament team. She had an attack percentage of .545 with 13 kills in 22 attempts.

Weber golfers 5th at Husky Invitational

Weber State's men's golf team placed fifth in the 18-team at the University of Washington Husky Invitational with a score of 925.

The University of California won the event with a team total 907, nine strokes better than runner-up, Oregon State.

Weber State's Andrew Smeeth finished third in individual medal play with rounds of 73-76-74 for a 223 total.
