DEATH: MABEL C. STEVE

Mabel C. Steve, 64, passed away at the Brigham City Pioneer Care Center, September 19, 1994, after a year-long battle with cancer.

She was born April 1, 1930 in Kinlichee, Arizona, a daughter of Sam and Nagleyelnasbah Curtis. She graduated from high school at Fort Wingate, New Mexico. She later moved to Brigham City, Utah. Here, she married Dean Steve on May 28, 1953.She had been employed at the former Intermountain Indian High School for 33 years as an educational aide. She was a resident of Brigham City for 45 years.

She is survived by her husband, Dean; three sons, Donald Dean Steve, Leroy Steve, Tony Steve; two daughters, Vivian Steve, Vennie S. Decker, and four grandchildren, Stefanie Lin Steve, Mikala Sue Steve, Susan Marise Decker and Katherine Deanna Decker, all of Brigham City. Also surviving are her three sisters, Alice Kee, Window Rock, Ariz.; Angelina Curtis, Ft. Defiance, Ariz.; Mary Louise Scott, Holbrook, Ariz.; nine brothers, Chee Curtis, Benjamin Curtis, and Franklin Curtis, all of Kinlichee, Ariz.; Jonas Curtis, Eddie Curtis of Ft. Defiance, Ariz.; Robert Curtis, Tuba City, Ariz.; Bennie Curtis, Greasewood, Ariz.; Jack Curtis, Ganado, Ariz.; Edison Curtis, Tsaile, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 23, 1994, at 10 a.m., at St. Henry's Catholic Church, 380 South 200 East, Brigham City. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Petersen Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
