Activities for the family are on tap for Utah State University's Alumni Aggie Family Day Saturday, Sept. 24, from 3 to 6 p.m.
A gymnastics clinic with Tana Davis and Ten-O Gymnastics School, and a basketball clinic with USU coach Larry Eustachy and the USU basketball team will both begin at 3 p.m. USU's cheerleaders present their cheerleading clinic at 4:30 p.m.Also beginning at 3 p.m. are displays and events by colleges. The College of Natural Resources will feature National Geographic Computer Games, a classic ski display, information on watershed pollution and environmental education in the back yard, and tours of the Quinney Natural Resource Library.
The College of Engineering will have an F-16 cockpit simulator, a video telephone, a computerized irrigation system and a display on Utah's earthquake hazards. The College of Agriculture will display farm animals and also have a petting zoo.
Additional activities for kids of all ages include face painting, storytelling, dart throw at balloons, Nerf football throw, basketball hoop toss, Pepsi ring toss and Frisbee toss.
A hot dog meal including drinks, chips, cookie and Aggie ice cream begins at 4:30. Cost is $1 per person.
The USU Marching Band and cheerleaders present a pep rally at 5:30 in anticipation of the 7 p.m. football game with the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. Discount tickets are available during Family Day for $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Entertainment during the afternoon will be provided by the Wind River Band and the USU Marching Band and cheerleaders.
Activities center around the Alumni Center, but parking is not available there. Parking is at the parking terrace and the Taggart Student Center parking lot.
