George P. Richards, owner and principal broker of Chapman-Richards & Associates, has been elected president of the Utah Association of Realtors. He succeeds Max D. Thompson, Ogden. Chapman-Richards is a 16-year-old real estate company with 67 full-time agents in residential, commercial and property management divisions.
Other officers are Gage Froerer, president of Century 21 Gage Froerer & Associates Inc., Ogden, president-elect; Georgia Ball, one of six partner/owners and principal broker for the Ramsey Group Real Estate Co., vice president; and Neal Henry, affiliated with Mansell & Associates, Orem, secretary-treasurer.Richards was president of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors in 1987 and has been chairman of several of its committees. In 1990 he was honored by the Salt Lake Board of Realtors and in 1992 was chosen realtor of the year by the Utah Association of Realtors.
He is a member of the Economic Development Corporation of Utah and is a member of the Salt Lake area, Sandy and Sugar House chambers of commerce.
