ALVINO REY TO HEADLINE JAZZ AND BLUES FESTIVAL

Renowned musician Alvino Rey will headline the Dixieland Jazz and Blues Festival Sunday, Sept. 25, at the Ogden Holiday Inn, 3306 Washington Blvd., sponsored by the Wasatch Mountains Dixieland Jazz Society.

The festival's matinee, from 1 to 5 p.m., is open to the public, with tickets at $5. The program will include performances by Rey, who founded the Alvino Rey Orchestra 50 years ago in Los Angeles, and trombonist Lee Fugal, playing with the Riverboat Rhythm Kings. Also performing will be Utah vocalists Peggy Rose and Jeannette Stokes Memmott.The Holiday Inn's regular Sunday brunch menu will be available to patrons, with an added "taste of New Orleans."
