Auditions have been scheduled for these stage productions:
- "Pinocchio" and "A Christmas Child," on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 27-28, from 6 to 9 p.m. at City Rep, 638 S. State.All roles are open in both productions.
"Pinocchio," which has been adapted for the stage by Joanne M. Parker, City Rep artistic director, consists of the story's traditional characters.
"A Christmas Child," an original musical, is about a 10-year-old girl facing a bleak holiday in 1953. The roles in this production include Emily, the young girl; her mother and father; two older women; one older male; a trio of one adult male and two adult females (who play multiple characters and must have tap-dancing ability); and a chorus of children and adults.
All roles in "A Christmas Child" require singing and dancing.
Those auditioning for both shows should come prepared with a 30-second monologue. In addition, "A Christmas Child" auditioners will be asked to sing 16 bars of a song. An accompanist will be provided. The dance portion of these auditions will be held during call-backs.
All auditioners should enter through the purple stage door on the northeast corner of the building.
Playdates: "Pinocchio," Nov. 5-Jan. 16 for 18 evenings and four matinees, and "A Christ- mas Child," Dec. 3-29, for 10 evenings and three matinees.

- "The Plight Before Christmas," on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. until noon at Pages Lane Theatre, 292 E. Pages Lane, Centerville. Directed by Bruce Craven, the show will be presented as part of Pages Lane's Saturday matinee series.
The melodrama and olio acts have roles for four to five females and five to six males. Auditioners will be asked to do cold readings from the script for the melodrama. A short song and/or dance with a Christmas theme will be required for the olio auditions.
