DEATH: A.G. ""AL"" BRAIN

Albert George Brain, Jr., 75, Salt Lake City, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 1994, in a Salt Lake City hospital after a short illness.

Born June 11, 1919, Salt Lake City, to Albert George and Irena Crofts Brain. Married Mary Miller June 12, 1943, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Served an LDS mission to Australia, 1939. High Priest, Edgehill 1st Ward, where he filled many callings. Childhood fascination with radio led to service as radio instructor, Navy, World War II. Al was expert in Morse Code. A consummate salesman, he founded several successful small businesses. A freelance TV news photographer, he shot more than 5,000 stories over 30 years. In later years, he took up amateur radio, earning his general license and teaching Morse Code to other HAM operators. Eagle Scout.

Survivors: wife; children, A. George Brain III, Carol Brain Wetzel (Paul), Barbara Brain Schoepp (Rich), all Salt Lake City; J. David Brain (Ruby), Wendover, Nev.; beloved grandchildren, Mary Anne and David Scott Wetzel; sisters, Ruth Brain Cannon (Ralph T.), Mary Brain Ridges (A. Ray), both Salt Lake City.

Funeral Monday, 11 a.m., Larkin Mortuary, 260 East So. Temple, where friends may call Sunday 6 to 8 p.m., and Monday one hour before services. Burial, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
