Kenneth E. Yates, 80, loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather, passed away September 22, 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born September 29, 1913 in Salt Lake City a son of Martha Newton and William Yates. Married Effie Woolley July 23, 1949 in Ely, Nevada.Served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Post commander VFW Post 4355. Past All American Department Commander of the VFW in 1964-65.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, JoAnne (Eugene) Washer and Claudia Derington; two grandsons; six granddaughters; 18 great-grandchildren, and sisters, Vivian Cook and Virginia Yates.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Austis, Jess N. and Max E.

Graveside services will be Monday, September 26, 1 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 10600 South 1700 East in Sandy. Friends may call at the downtwon Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Sunday evening, from 6-8 p.m. and at the Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, on Monday, one hour prior to the services. Military rites accorded by the VFW.
