An inventor hopes his new basketball hoop-within-a-hoop will improve foul shooting percentages.
Steve Riepe has devised "Accu-Rim," a 15-inch rim affixed within the standard 18-inch rim. He figures if players get used to shooting at a smaller target, they will be more likely to make the shot in the standard basket."It fits almost any rim, and it takes about five seconds to put it on," he said. "It takes you longer to go get the stepladder than it does to put it on."
