COUNSELORS AWAIT 2-DAY CONFERENCE

The annual meeting of the Association of Mormon Counselors and Psychotherapists will be held Thursday and Friday, Sept. 29 and 30, at Mount Olympus Stake Center, 3862 E. Oakview Drive. The theme of the conference is Peace Amid Calamity.

Thursday discussion topics include:- Red Cross Disaster Relief: Principles of Crisis Intervention - Richard Heapes, 9:30 a.m.

- Principles of Grief Recovery - Joyce and Dennis Ashton, 11 a.m.

- Treating the Missionary Crisis - David Bush, 2 p.m.

- Crisis of Temptation and Self-Control: A Social Constructionist Approach to Homosexuality - Jeff Robinson, 2 p.m.

- Learning to Let: the Paradox of Self-control - Dean Byrd and Mike Chamberlain, 2 p.m.

Friday topics include:

- Presidential address - Alan Westover, 9 a.m.

- Peace Amid Calamity - Aileen Clyde of the LDS Relief Society general presidency, 9:30 a.m.

The organization is a group of LDS psychiatrists, psychologists, social worker, nurses and students in training involved in the healing arts and in counseling clients in various settings in various parts of the United States and the world. For information call 583-6227.
