INTERESTED IN NATURAL HISTORY? U. TO OFFER A CREDITED COURSE

Anyone wanting to learn more about Utah's natural history can participate in docent training at the Utah Museum of Natural History. This year the training will be offered as a University of Utah credited course through the U. Division of Continuing Education.

The fall quarter class, which begins Sept. 27, is titled "A Museum Adventure in Geology."Winter quarter students will study anthropology; spring quarter delves into biology. Participants can choose to specialize as a volunteer docent by taking any single class or register for all three quarters for a more comprehensive training in all of the museum's disciplines.

Cost per quarter is $89 for non-credit and $329.50 for credit. Senior citizens can register for the class under the HB60 program for $10 per quarter. To register, call 581-8113 or 585-6490.

The museum also offers a monthlong accelerated docent training course to prepare volunteer teachers for the Museum's Junior Science Academy. Dates for the accelerated training course are Oct. 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 1 to 5 p.m. If interested call 581-6927.
