Authorities have a name for the man who shot himself following a chase but still have not been able to determine his residence or contact his family.
The man had a Nevada identification card indicating he was David J. Neal, 21, Wellington Police Chief Lee Barry said Monday. The address on the card was a business in Las Vegas, and no one there knows Neal, Barry said.
The Las Vegas Metro Police Department said Neal had been arrested twice in the last two months, for damaging a vehicle and for petty larceny.
Barry said he attempted to stop the man Sunday for speeding, and when he approached the car, he found the driver dead from a single gunshot to the heart.
Utah Highway Patrol trooper Gordon Bennett said the driver also had identification from Washington, D.C., and New Jersey.
