DEATH: NELE L. NEEDHAM

Park City, Utah will miss Nele Needham, who died Thursday, September 22, 1994 after a three month battle with leukemia.

During her years in San Francisco, Nele was active as a volunteer teacher in the public schools, Captain of the Women's Golf Section of The Olympic Club, an Angel of the Merola Program, a patron of the San Francisco Opera, Symphony, and The Magic Theater. She manifested her passion for culture and education through support and participation in many programs at Stanford University.During her two years in Park City, Nele became well known for her charismatic leadership ability and service to the community. She was a member of the Kimball Art Center Guild board and a patron of the Utah Symphony, the Park City Library and the Egyptian Theater. She dedicated many volunteer hours to educating the children of Park City. At Parley's Park Elementary School, Nele was a favorite third grade teaching volunteer. She founded the Masterpieces in Art program, an art education curriculum for grades 3-5, organized through volunteers at the Kimball Art Center. An active teacher of English as a second language, Nele endeared herself to foreign students as well. Her husband, Hal, her daughter, Anneke Seley, and many friends will remember Nele for her joie de vivre and her selfless giving to others.
