Scott E. Bowles, age 43, a well-loved man, died September 28, 1994 at his home in Orem, Utah.
He was born April 1, 1951 in Murray, Utah, the son of Arvid W. and Joyce Gressmen Bowles. He married Janet A. Nielson, June 5, 1972 in Logan, Utah. They were later divorced. He married Patricia Kay Murphy, December 14, 1991 at Zions National Park, Utah. Scott was an accomplished athlete and received All-State Honorable Mention in basketball at Bingham High School in 1969. He attended Utah State University where he received a BA in psychology, and MA in audiology and speech pathology. He has been employed as a principal in the Uinta, Salt Lake, and Duchesne School Districts for 20 years, currently the Vice Principal at Orem High School. Scott has received numerous awards of excellence in education over the years. He loved working with kids. He was a capable plumber and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and reading.Surviving family members include his wife, of Orem; children, Ryan Patrick Frandsen, of Salt Lake City; Amy Erin Bowles, of Bountiful; George Neal Frandsen, of Orem; Julia Diane Bowles, of Bountiful; Jennifer Leigh Frandsen, of Orem. Parents of Herriman, Utah; two brothers, Dennis (Colleen) Bowles, of Bennion, Utah; Ray (Jodie) Bowles, of Herriman, Utah; sister, Debbie (Ken) Rueckert, of Herriman, Utah; 16 nieces and nephews, who loved him.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 1, 1994, at 11 a.m. in the Lakeview Stake Center, 1850 So. 400 West, Orem. Friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 So. State St., Orem, and Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.
Burial will be in the Herriman Cemetery.
