SYRACUSE MAY SOON GET ITS OWN GOLF COURSE

1994 has been a boon for golf courses in North Davis County. First, the Swan Lakes Golf Course in Layton opened, and construction continues on Layton's Sun Hills Course and West Point's Schneider's Bluff Course. Now Syracuse could get its own golf course, too.

The City Council has set a special public hearing for Tuesday, Nov. 8, 7 p.m. to consider a request for annexation of land planned for a new course. The course would be on the north side of 1700 South - the main road leading to Antelope Island - between 3000 and 4000 West.

Mike McBride, land owner, has been hoping to develop the land into a golf course for the past decade.
