Gregory M. Duffin, currently vocal coach of the Utah Symphony Chorus, has been named conductor of the Treble Clefs Women's Chorus for the coming season. He holds a bachelor's degree in music and vocal performance from Weber State University and a master's degree in choral conducting from Radford University.

Formed in 1977, the Treble Clefs is a nonprofit community choir that has premiered pieces by Arlen Card, John Leavitt and Jeff Manookian. Women interested in auditioning for membership are invited to the group's rehearsals Sept. 7 and 14 at 6:30 p.m at the Cathedral Church of St. Mark, 231 E. 100 S.For information, call 278-1963.

- THE SALT LAKE MEN'S CHOIR announces openings for tenors, baritones and basses. Auditions may be scheduled by calling artistic director Douglas Kinney at 485-2989. Singers need to commit to weekly rehearsals and concert engagements during the winter and spring months.

Rehearsals begin Thursday, Sept. 8, at 7:15 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 1710 S. Foothill Dr., with an open house at 6:30 p.m. to welcome new and returning members.

- THE CANTERBURY SINGERS, directed by Myron Patterson, are filling vacancies for the coming season. Singers with choral experience and voices suited to ensemble singing are invited to audition.

The group's repertoire ranges from choral music of the Renaissance through that of the 20th century. Local performances have included several premieres. A tour of England is planned for 1997.

- THE SALT LAKE-WEST VALLEY Chorale will begin rehearsals for 1994-95 at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Westvale Presbyterian Church, 3610 S. 4400 West. Singers are needed in all voice ranges through October.
