PEOPLE IN THE ARTS

Well-known stage and screen actor Keene Curtis, one of the University of Utah theater department's most distinguished alumni, will donate scripts and papers from his career to the Marriott Library.

The Tony Award-winning former Utahn will be guest of honor at a garden party on Sept. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m., sponsored by the College of Fine Arts Advisory Board as a benefit for the college's scholarship fund. Admission cost is $40, including buffet and beverages. Call 581-6764 for reservations.Curtis, known for his roles in "The Rothschilds" and "Cheers," will visit guests and perform songs from his latest production, Tommy Tune's "Busker Alley."

- PIONEER THEATRE COMPANY Artistic Director Charles Morey has been appointed to the professional opera/musical theater panel of the National Endowment for the Arts. He is one of 18 members appointed to the national advisory panel, which reviews and makes recommendations on NEA grant applictions in the field of opera and musical theater.
