BEAVER INMATE DIES IN ROLLOVER; DRIVER CRITICAL

A Beaver County Jail inmate died Monday in a rollover near Minerville Reservoir.

The prisoner, whose name was not available Tuesday pending family notification, was a passenger in a truck traveling east on U-21 about 15 miles west of Beaver at 6 p.m. when the vehicle swerved off the right side of the road and overturned, according to Utah Highway Patrol trooper Charles Collings.The truck's driver, Matthew Ferguson, 32, was flown to LDS Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Tuesday.

The victim, 36, was on work release from the jail and expected to return Monday evening.

Police are still investigating the accident but said neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.
