Salt Lake police responded to at least four drive-by shootings over the holiday weekend, including a shooting that injured a West Salt Lake man.

About 1:30 a.m. Sunday, a 31-year-old man was walking with some friends near 340 S. Emery St. (1170 West) when a vehicle drove by very slowly. The occupants yelled something indistinguishable, and three or four shots were fired. One bullet struck the victim in the left upper forearm and exited near his elbow, according to a police report. He was treated at a local hospital.

The same vehicle had driven by them about 20 minutes earlier without incident or exchange of words.

Police suspect those in the car are members of a rival gang.

Another shooting occurred just after midnight Saturday at a home in the 700 South block of Park Street (540 East). A car full of teens fired at least six shots, hitting a parked vehicle.

A vehicle with its lights out drove by a home in the 1500 South block of Navajo (1350 West) about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, and four shots were fired from it. Three bullets hit the home, and one round hit the family pickup parked in front. The shooting is also believed to be gang-related.

About 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, a car pulled up in front of a house in the 1700 South block of Lake Street (740 East), and someone inside the vehicle fired five .22-caliber rounds. Two bullets went through a window and embedded in a wall and a picture frame. Two other bullets penetrated a front wall.
