Eight Utah County residents were injured Wednesday night in a two-car collision on University Avenue in Provo.

Provo Police dispatchers said a northbound van driven by Heidi Seaman, 24, Orem, collided with an open-topped Jeep driven by Matthew Crandall, 18, Springville, that was southbound at approximately 5200 N. University Ave.Seaman was apparently turning left onto 5200 North when the van was struck head-on by the Jeep at approximately 9:20 p.m. The Jeep rolled over, and two of its four occupants - Christie Clements, 22, Mapleton, and Eric Davis, 18, Salem, who were not wearing seat belts - were ejected. Crandall and another passenger, Mignon Boyer, 17, Springville, were belted in and remained in the vehicle.

The van's right side and rear were torn off in the collision.

Crandall and Boyer were treated at Orem Community Hospital and released. Clements was treated at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and also released, while Davis was in fair conditions at Utah Valley.

Three of the van's occupants - Seaman, Lee Langendoen, 16, Provo, and Jocelyn Emmot-Cadwallader, 15, Provo - also remain hospitalized at Utah Valley. Cory Lamons, 16, Provo, was treated at the scene.
