Sen. Edward Kennedy is hoping Aerosmith will get voters to walk his way.
The rock band is to perform at a $500-a-head fund-raiser for Kennedy, D-Mass., this week at a private home outside Boston, Kennedy spokeswoman Pamela Hughes said Wednesday."They're big backers of protecting the First Amendment," Hughes said.
Kennedy, first elected to the Senate in 1962, is being challenged by Republican businessmen Mitt Romney and John Lakian.
Aerosmith's hits include "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion."
