AGGIE OFFENSIVE LINE CONTINUES TO BE PLAGUED WITH INJURIES

Utah State University's offensive line, already younger than expected because of a season-ending knee injury to tackle Brian Davies in the preseason, took a couple more hits in this week's practices.

Guard Darrin Mitchell, a preseason All-Big West pick, reaggravated a groin pull that kept him out of last Saturday's opener but should still start Saturday's game at Colorado State. Also, walk-on tight end Novich Hunter, the basketball player who moved last week to tackle, broke his right hand in two places Wednesday in practice. He is still expected to share time with Dave Johnson at tackle.Backup tight end Kevin Welch is likely out with an ankle sprain. He is not listed on the three-deep. The Aggies are already minus starting tight end Xavier Foreman, who partially separated his right shoulder in Saturday's loss to Utah, and plan to start junior-college transfer Mike Hamilton this week. Kevin Corner moves up to backup.

Also, the Aggies list senior Gary Brown as starting linebacker with sophomore David Gill, with senior Willie Jackson listed as backup. Jackson had been the starter.

The defensive line has also undergone some depth-chart changes with starting left end Danilo Robinson moving to backup tackle and Matt Hauck and Johnnie Williams starting at ends. Pratt Lyons and Dave Balls remain the starting tackles.
