Harriet Doerr, at age 84, is a spring chicken in the world of literary fame. At age 74 she won the National Book Award for her first novel, "Stones for Ibarra." Her second novel, "Consider This, Senora," received enthusiastic reviews and is now in paperback.
She will be at the King's English Book Store, 1511 S. 1500 East, on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m. She will discuss her work and sign copies of her award-winning books.Doerr's visit is part of the store's 18th Birthday Bash. Wyoming author Florence Krall will also be on hand at 4 p.m. to sign copies of her book, "Ecotone: Wayfaring on the Margins."
There will also be music and an 18-percent-off sale.
