The 42-year-old woman was on a break from work at a business in the Brickyard Plaza. She was returning from her car parked in the parking lot about 8 p.m. and passed by a stairwell when she felt someone put a rope or cord around her neck from behind and violently jerk her back, a Salt Lake police report states. The woman said she felt herself being pulled up the stairs before she lost consciousness.
The victim woke up to discover that her clothing had been ripped. Although she was not raped, she received several scratches on her chest and hips.
