DEATH: VIRGIL O. STEADMAN

Virgil Otto Steadman, age 78, passed away December 29, 1994 in Salt Lake City.

Born January 21, 1916 in Millcreek, Utah, son of Edward and Louise Mehr Steadman. Married Jessie Audrey Jones September 26, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active member of the LDS Church, where he served as Scout master, bishopric counselor, ward and stake Sunday president, High Priest, High Councilman, home teacher and as stake chorister. Also served a mission with his wife to the Laotian Welfare Mission. Owner and operator of Steadman Jewelers for 50 years. Organized and founded "Steadman Orchestra" and sang with the Steadman Quartet.Survived by wife, Audrey; daughters, Connie (Jim) Taney, all of Taylorsville; Beverlee (Brent) Bunderson, Grantsville; son, Rodney V. (Christie) Steadman, Taylorsville; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, E. Darwin Steadman, M. Wesley (Donna), Stanley G. (Mavis), and Calvin M. (Valerie) Steadman, all of Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Meade; sister, Lorna; grandchild, Jessie Jean.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 12 noon, at the Riverview Ward, 955 West 4800 South. Friends may call Monday, 5-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Tuesday, at the church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
