Fourth-ranked Taylorsville thwarted any upset bids by West Jordan with a 15-11, 15-12 Region 3 victory over the Jaguars Monday.

Kim Nielsen recorded 31 assists, four kills and three blocks to pace the offense for the Warriors (8-0), which also received 15 kills from Heather Wetzel.Taylorsville led the entire way in game one, while the Jaguars (4-4), paced by the play of Jeanette Graves' nine kills and six blocks, eventually grabbed a 12-9 lead in the second game. Wetzel then posted three-straight kills to get Taylorsville on a roll to the win.

Mary Sorensen added nine kills for the Warriors, while Ruth Crockett added eight kills and three blocks for the Jaguars.

Kearns def. Hunter 15-13, 15-6: Laura Noall slammed home 12 kills to lead the Cougars to a victory over the Wolverines. Rachel Simmons added 21 assists in a good team effort for Kearns (2-5).

Bingham def. Copper Hills 15-2, 15-0: The Miners had little problem in taking care of the Grizzlies. Bingham improved to 6-2 with the victory, while Copper Hills fell to 0-8.
