A Murray man found dead Sunday in a sleeping bag near Snowbasin ski resort likely died from a drug overdose, with his body abandoned by his cohorts, police believe.

Dennis Steven Mihok, 45, probably died Saturday while in Ogden in the company of friends, Weber County Sheriff Craig Dearden said. His body was then wrapped in the sleeping bag and dropped off in a weeded area in Ogden Canyon, some two miles from the resort."Apparently, he died and they wanted to do something with the body and decided to take him up in the mountains, dropped him off," Dearden said.

A toxicolgy report, due back within two weeks, will verify if Mihok died of the overdose. Meanwhile, those involved with disposing of his body could face criminal charges for their actions. The county attorney's office will screen the case for charges this week.

Mihok was discovered fully clothed but missing his wallet, according to the sheriff. Investigators withheld releasing his identity while they searched for his family, eventually linking him to a Murray address.

Mihok's body was discovered Sunday afternoon by a family gathering autumn leaves.
