Glen Lincoln Snyder, prominent businessman and former executive of Safeway Stores, died of natural causes on October 8, 1995 in Castro Valley, California.

Glen was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 24, 1906 the son of Charles William and Martha Montgomery Snyder. His loving sister, Mary Joe, was born several years later, and the family made their home in Elsinore, Utah, where his father was a local storekeeper. Glen attended West High School and Henegar's Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. He later studied business at Golden Gate College in San Francisco, California. In 1934 he married Winifred Elizabeth Coleman of Manti, Utah. With his new bride of two days he moved to San Francisco, California to begin a career in transportation with the Traffic Department of the Santa Fe Railroad. He began a 27 year career with Safeway Stores in 1942. In 1943 Glen and Winifred became the proud parents of Carolyn Elizabeth, who was joined in 1945 by a baby sister, Marion Winifred. The family resided in Castro Valley, California where Glen retired from Safeway Stores in 1969 as their Worldwide Director of Transportation. He enjoyed a long and healthy retirement.Glen is survived by his cherished wife, Winifred; his adored daughters, Carolyn Muterspaw and Marion Snyder; and his loving sister Mary Joe Sprague.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 13, 1995, 2 p.m., at the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call from 12:45 p.m.- 1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment will follow the service at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah.
