Elmer Ray Larsen, 92, died October 17, 1995 in Ferron, Utah.
He was born in Molen, Utah April 8, 1903, a son of John Frederick and Ellen Hansen Larsen. He was reared and educated in Emery County. He married Bertha Mae Andersen, December 10, 1928 in Price; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He was self-employed as a carpenter and rancher. He was an active member of the LDS Church, holding positions as High Priest Group leader, Sunday School president, and Seventies president. He was active in community service in the Green Thumb program. He had many talents as a builder and farmer.
He is survived by his wife, of Ferron; two sons, Elmer (Kitty) Larsen, Orangeville; Lyle A. Larsen, Salt Lake; six daughters, Madge (Dean) Wilson, Salina; Mary (Martin) Star, Denver, Colo.; Irene (Everett) Hancock, South Jordan; Linda Mitchell and Ilene Ramsey, Salt Lake; and Elaine Larsen, Ferron. He is also survived by two brothers, Leonard Larsen, Ferron; Chester Larsen, Salt Lake; three sisters, Vera Maxfield, salt Lake; Ella Maxfield, Emery; and Edna Tyler, Phoenix, Ariz.; 27 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ora Mae, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 21, at 1 p.m. in the Ferron Stake Center. Friends may call at the church on Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Emery Cemetery, under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
