Two men have been charged in connection with the theft of a vehicle and a car chase with police Saturday.
The men, 27 and 32, are in jail on a bond of $10,000 each.The men were stopped Oct. 21, near 7600 W. 2820 South. The men fled when the officer got out of his car. They led police on a chase at speeds over 90 mph, through 25-mph zones, police say.
When the car stopped, one of the men ran from police and tossed a .38 caliber revolver, the 3rd Circuit Court records state. A bag of marijuana was also found on the man, according to the report.
After being read his rights, one of the men admitted to police he knew the car was stolen, the records state.
They were charged with receiving or transferring a stolen motor vehicle, a second-degree felony. They were also charged with possessing a dangerous weapon and failure to stop, both third-degree felonies and two misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and drug possession.
