Two more teenage victims of the deadly crash between a school bus and a commuter train were buried Saturday, while five of their schoolmates remained hospitalized.
Services were held for Shawn Robinson, 14, and Tiffany Schneider, 15.Families of four other victims planned funerals for Sunday and Monday. A seventh, Michael Hoffman, 14, was buried Friday.
Of the more than two dozen Cary-Grove High School students injured in Wednesday's accident, one was still in critical condition. Fourteen-year-old Rafael Guzman was hospitalized at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, suffering from a head injury.
Another student was in serious condition. Three other teenagers were listed in fair condition.
State and local officials in communities along the rail line where the crash occurred had begun inspecting signal equipment in response to a recommendation from the National Transportation Safety Board.
A timing problem involving signal equipment was faulted for the crash.
