A man was charged Friday with attempted murder for allegedly shooting a girl who rejected his advances at a party in September.

Jacob Denny Carradine, 18, was charged with shooting the 14-year-old girl at a party near 4000 West and 6500 South Sept. 23.Carradine was at party drinking with several teenagers when he reportedly took the girl into the bathroom. According to 3rd Circuit Court documents, Carradine threw the girl to the floor, hit her head against the tile and attempted to choke her after she spurned his advances.

He then held a gun to the girl's head and said, "You are going to die tonight," the documents state. He pulled the trigger, but the gun didn't fire.

A short time later, while holding the gun at the girl's side, Carradine pulled the trigger again. The bullet went through her arm and into her breast.
