Two separate accidents on Wasatch Front roadways have claimed the lives of two men.

Killed were:Heber T. Oderkirk, 71, Ogden.

Justin Bolin, 20, address unknown.

Oderkirk was driving west on U-39 near Ogden Saturday when he apparently crossed the center line and hit an eastbound Buick, according to a Utah Highway Patrol spokeswoman.

The victim, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital and pronounced dead.

The driver of the Buick, Allen Downs, 28, Ogden, and his 25-year-old wife, Gina Downs, were treated for minor injuries and released. They were both wearing seat belts.

Bolin died early Tuesday after apparently driving into a ravine in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

A motorist called 911 about 3:30 a.m. after spotting Bolin's car off the side of the road about 10 miles up the canyon, according to Salt Lake County Sheriff's Sgt. Jim Potter.

"It looks like the (victim) somehow got off the road and went into the ravine. There were no other cars involved," said Potter.

A second unidentified occupant was not seriously injured.

An investigation is pending.
