SHARE DEATH: MELVIN ""DON"" GRIFFIN

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and very best friend, Don Griffin, age 62, passed away October 6, 1995, from a brain tumor.

He died peacefully with great dignity, and his ability to brighten everyone's lives around him will be greatly missed.He was born November 11, 1932, in Duke, Oklahoma, and raised in Texas. He spent 22 years of his life serving his country in the Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force. He fought proudly in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired honorably from military service January 31, 1970.

He was employed in security at Unisys for 21 years, retiring February 1, 1995.

He married the love of his life, Carol, on June 27, 1967, in Elko, Nevada. They raised their two children whom he loved dearly: Danny and Cindy, and later grandson Michael. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy, in December 1978.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Cathy Maxwell; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; parents, Jack and Tiny Austin; brother, James and wife Geneva Griffin, and a son, Michael Griffin; mother-in-law, Charlotte Koer; Jennie and Oz Iverson, Marty and Myrna Cutler, Rhonda and David Brinkerhoff, Doreen and Karl Weiss, Bud and Fran Cutler; nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to mention.

He was deeply loved by all who knew him and he never met a stranger.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to doctors Apfelbaum, McAllister, Menendez, and Smith; nurses, Carol Johnson and Linda Rowley; and all of the staff at University Hospital; FHP Home Health Care, especially Seth and Michael for their dedication and valiant effort in caring for our beloved husband and dad.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 11, 1995, at 2 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary Chapel, 6500 South Redwood Road, where friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.

Even though our hearts are broken, we know that you've finally found "Easy Street."
