Leora Mae Pierce Atwood, 71, darling wife of Clement Antone Atwood and beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, returned to her Heavenly Father's presence November 11, 1995.

She was born to Elton L. and Thelma Ruth Worley Pierce April 14, 1924 in Wellington. She married her sweetheart Clemont on November 15, 1941 in Price. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple January 30, 1947. She was an active member of the LDS Church and held many positions in church organizations.She is survived by her husband, of Hurricane; seven children: Karen K. (Joseph) Jewkes, of Sandy; Ronald Clemont (Mary) Atwood, of Orem; Cleora Mae (Smokey) Clark and Ruth Ann (Jay) Dinkelman, of Wellington; Brent Cloye (Sheree) Atwood and Gary Antone (Patricia) Atwood, of Price; Bruce Lee (Susan) Atwood, of Roy; 38 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was the second oldest of 16 children, ten of whom are still living: Klebe (Marilyn) Pierce, of North Salt Lake; Roberta (Stan) Mason, of Salt Lake City; Ellis Pierce, Ward Pierce and Murry (Joyce) Pierce, of Price; Elaine Pierce, Asay (Arlette) Pierce, Josephine (Ted) Pappas, Rayma (Doug) Cranford, and Bene (Connie) Pierce, all of Wellington. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Howard, Gary, Curry; Robert, an infant sister, and one grandson, Barry Atwood Jewkes.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 14, 11 a.m. at the Wellington 1st/4th Ward Chapel. Friends may call Monday from 7-9 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price, or one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Wellington City Cemetery.
