The Center for Humanitarian Outreach and Intercultural Exchange last week honored Jon M. and Karen H. Huntsman and Stan and Mari Thekaekara as international humanitarians during its annual international gala.

The Huntsmans were feted for their generosity to programs and causes that improve lives. The Theraekaras were lauded for work with tribal people in their native India.The center, called CHOICE, brings people together form all walks of life to confront the challenges of the world's most impoverished nations. CHOICE volunteers pay their own way to travel to rural villages in developing nations to help natives start literacy, medical and training programs.
