Coalville artist Nora Clark has been selected to receive LDS Business College's first Alumni Achievement Award.

Clark, who overcame a crippling automobile accident to become an accomplished artist, will be honored during the college's fourth annual Founders Day Reunion on Friday, Nov. 17."Nora epitomizes all that is good and honorable about LDS Business College alumni," said Mary Koller, a member of the alumni association board of directors. "She has excelled despite significant hard-ships."

While driving home to Coalville from Salt Lake City nine years ago, Clark lost control of her automobile. The vehicle rolled six times. Though she was wearing her seat belt, Clark suffered a broken neck and was paralyzed from the neck down.

Surgery restored some mobility to her arms, allowing her to paint by using a brush strapped to her wrist. She steadies her arm on a table as she painstakingly captures landscapes and still-life scenes on canvas.
