Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, age 87, passed away November 11, 1995.

Born 19 Feb. 1908 in Bingham Canyon, Utah. Married Willard "Pete" Smith, 7 March 1927. Virginia was a member of the LDS Church, converted at age 18. She loved her church and was called through the years to lead and direct in many positions. Secretary Relief Society, MIA, Sunday School. Very active in genealogy research, member Genealogy Board. Recorder for Myton City 21 years, 1954-1973. Manager Myton School Lunch 27 years, 1944-1972. Member DUP since 1937, avid historian, she loved to research and learn, and was a horticulturist.She is preceded in death by her parents, Lafayette Chidester and Elsie Hicks, husband, Willard and son, Bert Smith; also three brothers, four sisters and three great-grandchildren.

Survived by daughters: Betty Brokaw, Salt Lake City; Genele "Jean" Rippon, Los Angeles; Mrs. Ray (Darlene) Perry, Las Vegas; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Les (Peggy) Lassiter, So. Jordan; sister, Louise Mecham, Price; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to be held Thursday, November 16, 10 a.m. Viewing 11 a.m. Myton Ward Chapel, Interment at Myton Cemetery. Funeral Directors Hullinger-Olpin Mortuary, Roosevelt.
