Farris Swapp Jolley, 84, of Corvallis, Oregon, died November 10, 1995, of causes incident to age, in Corvallis.
She was born September 19, 1911 in Kanab, Utah, to Joseph and Editha Farnsworth Swapp. On September 24, 1935, she married Leonard J. Jolley in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.She attended schools in Provo and received a teaching degree from Brigham Young University. She later lived in Cottage Grove, Oregon and The Dalles, Oregon, prior to moving to Corvallis.
She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Corvallis First Ward. Throughout her life she has served in many ward and stake capacities and in 1975-76 she served a full time LDS mission with her husband, to the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission.
She was well known for her beautiful knitting, crocheting and needlework. She was also an excellent cook, piano player and writer.
She served in The Dalles (Oregon) General Hospital volunteer auxiliary and on the Wasco County (Oregon) election board.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard, Corvallis; a daughter-in-law, Joette Jolley, Salem, Oregon; a daughter, Janeen (Dan) Hullinger, Farmington, Utah; a son, Bruce (Carol) Jolley, Springfield, Oregon; a daughter, Gloria (Roland) Johnson, Roseburg, Oregon; a daughter, Sue Ann (Steven) Crockett, Bellingham, Washington; a brother, Morris Swapp, St. George, Utah; a sister, Marva Giannola, Carson City, Nevada; a sister, Sandra Whatcott, Provo, Utah; 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Jolley.
