Richard Emery Webb, age 70, a gentle, loving man and exemplary teacher, died November 12, 1995.

Born in Sandy, Utah, October 8, 1925. The fifth child of George F. and Florence Emery Webb. He graduated from Jordan High in 1943 and served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946, fighting through France and Germany where he was awarded the Purple Heart.Soon after his discharge he was called to served in the Northern California Mission for the LDS Church.

He met his sweetheart, Barbara White, through his best friend shortly after his return, and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple May 1, 1951.

Richard graduated from the U of U and began his teaching career at North Summit High School in Coalville, Utah and three years later as principal of Tintic High School in Eureka, Utah. But his love for teaching took him to Granger High School where he taught for 24 years until medical retirement in 1986.

He was proud to be an Eagle Scout and served as cubmaster, scoutmaster, and with wife, taught the 11 year old Scouts for 13 years in Primary. He also taught merit badge classes for many years.

His wisdom was never restricted to the classroom. He loved nature and all outdoors and enjoyed 15 summers at Mill Hollow with Donna Pack and crew from Upland Terrace.

He held many positions in his ward and was a loving husband and father and a devoted member of God's Kingdom on earth. We will sorely miss his wisdom and love. Special thanks to Tina Pel of Community Nursing Service and Sue Basta of Cancer Pain Service.

Survived by brother, Francis, of Sandy, Utah; sister, Florence Goulding, Oregon; wife; nine children; 22 grandchildren; preceded in death by parents and brothers, Arden and Hugh.
